What
are 35mm film cells or moviecells?
Moviecells are single stripes of cinema or movie theater celluloid
in 35mm format, what means the stripes are 35mm wide. Except
this size there are also others like 16mm or 8mm, which are
mainly to find within home cinema use. For cinema film memoriabilia
is used almost exclusively the wide 35mm size (our standard
offering), rarely 70mm (like our special offering "Terminator
2"). Depending on the movie screening system the
film cells can be flat or scope format.
Will
I receive exactly the moviecells I get showed with the preview
pictures?
Yes, you'll do. This is a special service organized in this
webshop, providing images of the moviecells available to buy.
So you are able to choose exactly the scenes from a movie
you wanna see on your moviecells. Please consider that the
preview pictures cannot represent the splendor and sharpness
of the real film cell.
Furthermore we offer a brand new feature, which gives you
the chance to request and order certain moviecells from all
of the movie, not being reliant on a preselection...

Is
it possible to request certain film cells from my favorite
movie(s) in this shop?
Yes, it is! We are glad to give you the chance to request
and order exactly the scenes out of your favorite movie(s)
you wanna see on your moviecells. Therefore we set up a brand
new feature, where you are able to request certain scenes
from the movie by setting up the playtime (e.g. from VHS or
DVD) and give short description of what should be to see.

But,
please remember that there are scenes which are more popular
than others, and scenes that are shorter than others. So every
scene can only be offered as long as the cells last. We are
really sorry, if you should be late...
In
what condition are the moviecells in this shop?
The condition of the film cells in this shop varies. Because
the film cells are original cinema material (some cells, which
are offered in this shop, are more than 20 or 30 years old),
they are in more or less used (worn) condition or may contain
discolorations. But sometimes it's also possible to offer
unused or very well preserved material, what increases the
collector's value once again.
The condition of the film cells offered in the shop is rated
by stars (
= poor condition,
= unused or mint condition). Over all we try to offer the
best quality available.
How
do I handle stripes of 35mm moviecells?
If you're not careful handling moviecells, you'll quickly
get visible fingerprints on them. In this case better do not
try to clean the cells with water or you'll damage the surface
of the stripes. Rather use a dry and soft cloth out of cotton
or similar and carefully clean the surface so you won't scratch
it up.
Moviecells should be kept in a dry environment, otherwise
they'll start to get the so called "vinegar syndrom",
what means the material starts to crumble. In this case the
cells start to smell like some kind of vinegar.
Moviecells should also be protected from strong sunlight,
otherwise the colors will start to bleach out after a while.
If you handle your moviecells with care, they'll outlast
a long time and become more and more valuable since the digital
technology starts to move into the movie theaters, so that
celluloid just becomes a relict of a retrograde time of motion-picture
theater...
